How to Maintain Healthy Hair?

Maintaining healthy hair is not as difficult as it seems. The main elements that you need is knowledge and consistency. The knowledge part we have covered for you. The consistency is on you!

1. Use Products That Work For You

Natural hair is very unique. What works for me may not work for you, which is why it is SO IMPORTANT for you to know what products keeps your hair moisturised.

2. Trim Your Hair When Necessary

Trimming your hair is necessary for healthy hair as it helps to reduce breakage and split ends.

Recommend:
Trim your hair twice a year (e.g. in February and November).

3. Do More Protective Styles !

Protective styles shield your hair from manipulation and environmental factors that are not good for your hair. It also is proven that protective styles are a good way to grow your hair.

4. Use Minimal Heat On Your Hair

Sometimes on wash day, you may be tempted to blow out your hair, then it become a regular routine and BOOM- Heat Damage (please not that this is not not the only cause of heat damage). PUT THE BLOW DRYER DOWN GIRL!
- Take it from someone who knows!(CEO Story)

5. Have A Good Hair Care Routine

A good hair care routine is one that is realistically set around your daily life and includes elements such as: Wash days, moisturising days and when you are going to put a protective style in, etc.

Many customers that I have interacted with sometimes struggle with where to start when it comes to this. If this sounds like you, I can help book a consultation call with or fill out this form and I will create a tailored, personalised haircare routine just for you!

6. Have A Healthy, Balanced Diet

You are what you eat!- A statement that is truly overlooked. It is all nice and well that you have a haircare routine and you are using the right products, but if your diet is poor then your hair will be too.

The best type of foods to incorporate into your diet are:

Proteins
Vitamin B5
Biotin
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Iron
And Many More
(I will discuss this further in another blog)

7. The Tools That You Use On Your Hair

The tools and accessories that you use on your hair also play a big part to the health of your hair. There are some tools that create tension or even breakage.

Recommend:
Use a detangler, satin scrunchies, bonnets, scarves and pillowcase.
